Nova has started showing signs that her puppy teeth are itchy and painful. She bites and chews on everything within reach. This affects us, too—since she clearly views us as walking, meaty bones—and it hurts!
She has plenty of things to chew on: ice cubes made from bone broth, and a cloth diaper soaked in water and frozen, which helps soothe her teeth.
She has deer hide to chew on—we’ve removed the deer antler, given how sensitive her teeth are. Some rabbit ears are on the way, too; I hope she’ll take to those.
I took a quick look inside her mouth today and can see that things are changing; I can tell something is coming through, especially among her front teeth.
Nova has a vet appointment this Thursday for her 12-week check-up, and the vet will likely take a look at her teeth as well.
I just recorded a short video of Nova sitting in her stroller—chewing on her piece of deer hide.
