How it’s going

Nova has now fully transitioned to Bozita food, and she will remain on this diet. She loves eating it—especially when softened with water, for which this food is excellent.
Following the transition, which took 14 days, she is noticeably calmer; Bozita provides slightly less energy. She is now better at settling down on her own—which came as a surprise, given that she used to turn into a “little devil,” getting the “biting crazies” and zooming around the living room. It used to be difficult to get her to calm down, but as mentioned, that has started to change since the switch in food.
I observed the same thing with Oscar and Darwin—an excess of energy from their food made them act a bit “crazy.” They were also switched to the same food that Nova is eating now.

Nova now gets more natural chew items, including coffee wood, olive wood, and natural chews made from red deer antler. She loves the deer antler.

This morning, I particularly noticed how much calmer Nova was. After eating her breakfast, she climbed up onto her “throne” (an armchair with its own set of stairs—she loves the stairs, as they allow her to get into the chair). She sat there for a long time, gazing out over her “queen’s kingdom.” When I went to have my own breakfast, she curled up in her basket and fell asleep. I’m curious to see if this continues!
She is sleeping very well now; at night, in particular, we don’t hear a peep from her until the very early morning hours.

Nova is now 11 weeks old, and next week she will meet our lovely vet for her 12-week check-up.
