Choose the right fiber

Just like humans, our dogs also need fiber. We know that wolves eat various grasses, and bark from trees/bushes – just to name a few. They also eat fur and skin from the animals they kill. But that’s not the case with our dogs.
Dogs that are fed homemade food like my beagles are/have been – will have a diet that is far too low in fiber. Other supplements are needed when feeding homemade food.
Back to fiber, I’ve tried different things over the years. Oscar had a poorly functioning colon and therefore it was even more necessary for him to get a supplement. I used Stomax from Swedencare – and I’m still using that for Darwin. Since Darwin is older now, it’s even more necessary for his stomach to be in balance. He gets a supplement of Stomax every day and it helps him get to the “toilet” easier, and it protects the intestines and makes his stools better.

Stomax is a prebiotic, based on a broad fiber complex and lecithin.
The fiber has a very high water absorption capacity that balances the intestinal flora.
It is fiber from the potato cell walls – inactive yeast – inulin/oligofructose. Fiber from potatoes is especially good because Darwin can’t tolerate rice, for example.
There is a measure in the box and a beagle should have 1 measure a day. The powder must be stirred up in water and then I just mix it with his homemade food in the afternoon.
In addition to that, Darwin gets 4 pumps of viacutan oil per day and his fur and well-being have never been better than now.
All his inflammation in his right eye is completely gone and his eyes are much clearer, although he doesn’t see as well anymore.
