Today marks 12 weeks since Nova and her siblings came into the world.
Everything is happening so fast! Nova has outgrown her 50 cm donut bed, so today she got a new one measuring 70 cm.
This morning, she weighed in at 5,390 grams—an increase of 540 grams since last week.
According to “experts,” she is somewhat larger than what is typical for Beagle puppies of her age. However, when measured against the standards set by the DKK (Danish Kennel Club) and the FCI, she fits the profile perfectly.
For comparison, Darwin weighed 6 kg at the same age.
Nova is a very focused little Beagle lady; she quite enjoys just sitting and watching the world go by. She does have her “puppy crazies”—running around, barking, and acting a bit wild—before needing a nap. I suppose you could call this the “witching hour.” We’ve certainly seen this behavior before with both Oscar and Darwin—and back then, it meant they needed a time-out!
